Volunteer - Editors Wanted!

Image of a tree with no leaves against blue sky.

My goal for this website is to make it a great resource for environmentally sound resources all around the United States. In the long term, I'd love to also add Canada and other countries. This is not a project I can do by myself!

I need help!

If you think you might be interested in providing your help in adding resources that you know of, please contact me!

Want to contribute?

If you're interested in becoming a volunteer editor, please send me some information about yourself, your interest in environmentalism, and why you want to help. Also, suggest a couple businesses that you'd like to add - try to mention something that's not exactly like what's already in the directory. Obviously, co-operative grocery stores and credit unions are the bulk of what's already there - this is purely because I've been trying to add a good breadth of locality to the database, and these are the easiest businesses to find. The most valuable additions to the database are business that have no web presence!

Most importantly, convince me that you want to help, and will take it seriously. If you think you only know of one or two businesses to add, it's probably easier for you to just e-mail me the information. If you're interested in actively looking for interesting new businesses to add to the database, or do the hard grunt work of adding the numerous locations some businesses have!

I don't guarantee that I'll accept every application - I want people who are sincerely interested in the project and who will add quality sites to the database. Regardless, everybody is encouraged to submit a suggested business or website to me via the contact form.

Written an article? Want to see it online?

By all means, send it along! I have no money - I'm not offering payment for articles. However, if you have written something of interest, by all means I want to hear about it. If it's relatively short, (under 1000 words) submit it through the contact form. If it's longer, drop me a note and I'll get in touch with you! Please, though, no print manuscripts - computer formatted only.

Thank you for your interest!

Traveling by bicycle (or other self-powered vehicles) is an excellent way of combining a need for daily exercise with saving fossil fuels in your transport. What do you consider a reasonable bicycle commute? (One way.)
